I picked up some red/maroon and they have some really long lengths. Is that 59" or 71"? 54" skipping the top eyelet. I should have gone with 59" and if I wanted to wrap around the ankle then probably something in the mid 60s.

I hate those. Easy to resist. Moc toe or bust for Alden boots. And shiny side out, please.
It looks like a Clark high top for 5x the money.

I have my share of suede boots/shoes, but I end up selling all of them, except one pair. I like them when I were holding them but could not fit into the rotation. I also had a hard time keep them clean.

I also had a hard time keep them clean. I will not buy any suede. Even if I dont wear them in the snow and the slush dirt still catches up to them and they look like hell. I have come around to roughout though. I'm going to own a pair of those someday but that's a whole different animal and would not want a pair of Aldens in roughout.

Yeah, I don't have a pair of either but I think roughout or waxed flesh is better.

Hey, I am seriously debating the Ciano orange pants, for the very reason of working outside my comfort zone. I just worry that someone will think I'm a UT, OSU or Tennessee fan.

I agree with northcoast. Suede sucks. Roughout is good. Why would you want half the material? The fact that Alden uses suede tarnishes their image with me a little bit.

This is clearly a false flag operation! Haha. My dad dresses like he's trying to be seen from the ISS. He has orange Clarks and fire engine red pants that he wears together. I suppose I should get some red suede Aldens and flip the look.

Fathers day present?

I assume they don't plan on selling a lot of those. Makes a Clegg look down right reasonable.

I tend to like the look of them, but i don't think much of suede as by definition it's a split and never full grain, which means it's never the strongest part of the hide. When it comes to work boot styles (and the fact that I beat them up) I much prefer full grain leather. When it comes down to it, though, I tend to avoid them for longevity and their maintenance needs. As an occasional shoe or something that doesn't face a lot of abrasion they're not a bad, though.
