Well either I am silly and cannot find it, or there is no Alden thread here. Epaulet New York has a preorder for 3 different styles with some unknown future delivery date:

I really like the look of the boots and am trying to figure out a reason to not order them.

I'm probably going to grab some this week. I've read tons of stuff on sizing but I'm still not positive on what I should get. I think I can pull off a 9 even though I do 9.5 in RW IR, they do have room.

the Alden x Leffot Walter Boot pre-orders started today. i love how they look, but not sure i'm good spending over $700 for a pair of boots at the moment. also still waiting for the indy pre-order from feb to come in.

Crepe soles and that toe do nothing for me. I also think black shell looks too much like patent leather. Now the natural cap toes, that's a whole other story.

Yeah, I'm starting to get a little annoyed that the Feb pre-orders are not done yet, but at least I know it's not just mine.

@david our natural CXL Indy's are done! At least I got the PayPal invoice and an email checking on the shipping address from Leffot today. Paid that sucker straight away and hope they show up early next week. We can post up some pics once we get them.

The Brogue was originally designed in Scotland and Ireland as a shoe suitable for wearing while working outdoors. The Irish and Scottish countryside is wet and characterized by bogs that made life very difficult for the people who worked there and, as was expected, their feet took a beating. The need of the hour was a pair of shoes that were suitable for this type of work and terrain. The original Brogues were rudimentary shoes made with untanned animal hide; their distinctive feature was a series of perforations and serrations (broguing) of each piece of leather that was used in their construction. The purpose of these perforations was to allow water to drain from the shoes. Another feature of their design was that they were laced by leather tangs and did not have the tongue as in other shoes; they also had high lacing that wrapped above the ankles. This design feature kept the laces free from muck and dirt and prevented the shoes from being sucked off while walking in the mud. This basic design is now known as the ‘ghillie brogue’ and is often considered the standard style for traditional Scottish dress footwear.

It seems the no tongue thing was lost on most shoes at some point, and now it's just a style feature as opposed to a totally different style.

same here. I like my Indy boots but I have wide feet and even with the Tru Balance last my Indy's feel tight.

Finally got the Leffot Natural CXL Alden Indy Commando Sole. These are 9.5 D and fit like a glove with a medium weight sock and didn't need any breaking in at all.

nice. i had received a shipping notification for mine, but when i checked it UPS said the shipment had been voided by the shipper. send leffot message for status. hopefully it was just to account for my address change since the time of purchase and not something wrong with the boots.

Also received my natural cxl Indys with commando sole today. Unfortunately mine arrived with a few imperfections that are a bit disappointing considering the lengthy wait and price paid. The moc toe stitching on one boot arrived dirty/stained which is only slightly noticeable when looking at only that boot, but quite noticeable when side by side with the other. If this were the only issue I'd chalk it up to 'oh well, all of the stitching will be dirty in about 3 days. But... there are also a couple of holes in the leather at the rear of the boot near the sole. I'm assuming these are misplaced stitch holes. These are more troublesome to me as they're a bit more structural and I'm unsure if this area wasn't stitched, or if they just ended up re-punching holes. Shot Leffot some photos... though I doubt they have any additional pairs in my size. Not sure what my options will be.

I'd be really upset about the heel, that's really not cool at all. I would think Alden would consider those seconds at best.

seriously. They must be using Gustin's QC. It was a limited release, how did they let those out the door. A blemish on the Leffot brand.

I received an email from Leffot this evening. They confirmed that they had no additional pairs in my size. My options are to return them for a full refund or to send them to Alden to see if they can repair them. I'm not sure if that 2nd option is feasible as I'm unsure what method they would use to repair. I'm also not sure logistically if I would ship them to Alden or Leffot, and if I would be reimbursed for shipping costs... or if they can't repair them what my refund options are at that point (and from who).

As bitter of a pill as it would be to swallow, sounds like return and refund is your only real option. Such a bummer for ya, man.
