As a bit of a long term experiment, I copped my first pair of IH. They will be worn for my work, in construction. I got them from Rodeo Bros. They cost about 3× more than I normally pay for work pants. I'm really interested to find out how long they hold up, and how they fade. I will be posting pics on a very regular basis for these.....    Let the fun begin ! |

I assume you'll be washing often, as you'll be working in them. Very interested to see how these will turn out!

Big thanks to Rodeo Bros. Three days from dispatch to door. Damn spectacular for half way around the world.  Deep indigo is an understatement. They are almost black. Copper stitching is as true to copper as I have ever seen. Triple stitched in and out seams ought to make them durable as hell. The 16oz denim is the heaviest fabric I have tried for work. I'm very optimistic, at this point. 
Construction is as solid as you could ever get. Not a stray stitch, or loose thread to be found. I love the dual colored thread hem. Fitting, it looks like a construction barricade. For anyone interested, they are not selvedge. But, as we know, selvedge doesn't necessarily represent quality, and non-selvedge doesn't mean it's crap. Take from me, this stuff feels substantial, and tough as nails. They came pretty stiff, and a touch baggy. I prefer much more room in my workwear. So, it's all good. As I type, I am soaking them, to soften them up. In there new state, they were bound to rub something the wrong way.....

Jokes aside, I'm looking forward to seeing how these work out for you in a "real work" application. Design wise, they are like any other I have worn. I need the extra pockets for carrying hand tools. The big difference will be the more durable denim, and superior construction. Of course, the fades will be a big plus. I can guarantee they will be dirty. |

20oz is tempting. Not enough pockets, though. I always use carpenter, or painter style pants for work. Often I'm wearing a fall protection harness, which makes it hard to pull hand tools from back pockets. Tools have a tendency to wear holes in them rather quickly, as well. So, I stick to what works. I've got 3 unwashed wears on the 817s. I've been using an old clothes brush on them, at the end of the day. But, I've been sweating a good deal in them. So, they'll be getting a wash, soon. As part of this experiment, I'm going to hit up cianofarmer about the possibility of building me a pair. I'd like to put their stuff through some punishment, too. |

those indigo selvedge ducks are very odd looking... the triple contrast stitching and bagginess kills it.
