The TS flannels are a decent deal for a USA made shirt. I have some other 10oz flannels from another brand that were a heck of a lot more than TS's asking price, but is another animal, and not trying to compare. I loaded up on TS stuff when they were a burgeoning company, and haven't bought much the last few years, but I kind of liked the lighter brown/mus-tardy flannel, or whatever. I'm running on memory, and have had whiskey.

Wish they would have offered that Red Shadow Plaid Moto shirt last year. I bought the red buffalo. Now I'll have two red plaid shirts. Of course you will. They really are two totally different shirts!

Not sure why they don't make the others (blue, yellow, white) in the Shadow plaid also. I think it tones down the Buffalo block look

Thanks. I should probably take my loaf self into a suit store and see what's up. Speaking as someone who just bought his first suit in over 10 years, it's worth getting your butt into an actual store. I was surprised at the differences in jacket construction and how that looked on me. It's also nice to be able to feel fabric. Unless you live hundreds of miles away from a reputable mens' shop, I'd go to a store before laying out ~$1000 for a suit. EDIT: Just realized you were looking at a jacket and not a suit. Sorry. Either way, I think what I said above stands, just swap ~$500 for a jacket instead of the $1k for a suit. Get thee to a brick and mortar.

Excellent advice. I want to like Italian suits, but have yet to find one that works with my body. Shoulder cut always seems weird.
Just knowing your suit size is a start, but being able to try on a jacket is a big thing to determine the way it lies, the way it moves and if it needs major tailoring.

Word fellas. Thanks. Yeah suppose I got lucky with the TS telegraph. Always read start from the shoulders and go from there yet there is so much more going on. Visiting the Styleforum tailoring/fit guide is a horror show haha. Omfg.

Have to give props to TS CS. Have had nothing but good experience with Mina. Requested a 20% code I lost a while back (likely expired)and with the quickness she was on it. The democratic chino is perhaps the most passable item from them in my closet IMHO. Hard to beat Gustin or Epaulet. So you're saying that you prefer the Gustin chinos to TS? Is it fit, construction, materials? All of the above?

Is it fit, construction, materials? All of the above? I have one pair of TS democratic chinos, a bunch of G chinos, and a few Epaulets (older version) and frankly there is no comparison in fit (both straight and slim), quality (splitting hairs), and wonderful fabric variety compared to the TS. Imho. Not a huge fan of other G stuff, but I have yet to see better chinos for the price. I probably like the Epaulet rivet chino fit (older version looks relatively identical) better but damn G's are awesome for the price and way more interesting fabrics than Epaulet. You do have to be careful with Epaulets as they are snug as shit in the seat too as evidenced in the fit picks. Hope this helps.

I'd second this. I think my favorite pair of chinos is the 10.75 oz selvedge indigo canvas from Gustin. They were $100. Just amazing pants, even more so now that they are starting to fade a bit.

Thanks for your thoughts guys as I have been eyeing both TS and G chinos for sometime.
One of the issues that has held me back has been a combination of the length of both chinos and the slightly off waist sizing. I like my chinos on the shorter side so all that adds up to additional time and expense with the tailor.
My body is outside the norms that Epaulet is willing to produce thier products within and I have yet to feel like I want a custom from them.

Fit is weird for everyone, not sure who they're cutting for. I don't mind the TS slims, but now that they're all made in Spain, its easy to choose Gustin over them, provided you find them in the stock store, or don't mind a wait.

Have these had much shrink? Have you put them in a dryer? They seem like they would shrink a lot which has prevented me from backing them.

Love the cord, love the cut, not sold on my grandma's couch color. Wish it were 30-50% lighter, or brown.

I'm about 1.5 years in and they still haven't seen any water. Is there a reason you're concerned about shrink? In my experience canvas isn't prone to shrink any more than other fabrics, but I only have a few canvas garments, many of which have not been washed. FWIW, when I do finally wash them, I plan on a cold soak with woolite and a hang dry.

Haha, he is built oddly.
Didn't realize the Oxnard didn't have a gusseted side seam. May pass on it. But the Chinese shirts for the same pricing as MiUSA ones? They clearly think we're stupid.
