Full fledged China survey. Time to unsubscribe. I did do their latest survey, and simply said no way, on the China stuff, and OK for the made in Cali. I then sent them an e-mail as to why I bought from them in the first place, when they were starting out, when their vision was making products stateside. Obviously, their mission statement has changed. I suppose that as long as people buy their China stuff, they will continue outsourcing there, but it won't be with my dime.

I saw all the made china too and was like no way. I need to send an email as well cause I supported them since it was made in cali and a local spot for me to chill with the guys there.

Yeah - pretty disappointing, especially cause they are taking the yosemite there now too. Some of the china stuff had promise too. Appreciate them coming out publicly about the china move /sarcasm

So I my personal beef with Portuguese manufacturing, I acknowledge that they're a really good, fair and equitable place to make clothing. So even if TS had just become fully Portuguese in their manufacturing, I wouldn't really blame them, I just wouldn't buy from them.
But China is a whole other ball of wax. That's just admitting that they're in this solely for the money. Dicks. Makes me mad at my pants. Thanks a lot.

I was actually into the red/blue Yosemite. Damn, I love those shirts. I may have to cave on a pair of the camp pants cause........fit. This sucks.

Whenever I go into a high end clothing shop and see something made in China, my immediate thought is: "someone is getting rich from this." If you are making something in China, I don't think you should be able to charge more than $100 for a shirt. On the bright side, they did have about half their shirts made in California.

bentin said this in another thread and it has kind of stuck with me ever since. Add TS to that list. But instead of insta-ignore it's my wallet-ignore list. Bridge & Burn is on my insta ignore list along with Faherty, Penfield, RRL, Grayers and Jack Spade since all or nearly all of their stuff is Chinese made. Alex Mill used to be, but has started making more and more stuff in the US, so they're back on my radar.

I have a couple of RRL shirts that I bought on clearance a year or so again but won't be doing so again. RRL is already outrageously priced to begin with, but clearly Ralph Lauren is making a fortune off of selling MiC Americana. I actually hope the MiC thing bites TS in the @ss. At the very least they're taking advantage of their customers for short term gains. Oh, and they no longer get to call the Yosemite the Yosemite. They should name it after the province in China where it's now being made.

I did the same, then went back to my other throwaway accounts and rated everything MiC as one star.

It's sad to see TS go that way, though I was out when they increased prices and moved production to lower cost countries. The one that bums me out is flint and tinder all but disappearing. Those are the best fitting jeans I have. But don't worry. Once Yosemite is sold to China it will all make sense again.

Received the Indigo Machanics shirt (wearing now). First impression - decent Has that inky look to it. Machanics shirt is a nice style. Fabric is lighter (think it's only 5oz) which makes it a nice summer shirt or maybe a good shirt to layer under something come winter. Fabric has a faint slub look to it. What I like most is how well it looks with a pair of faded jeans. Is it worth $125 ... kind of... it is Selvedge chambray (if your into that kind of thing). It will age/fade well. But I have a hard time recommending a shirt for $125. Maybe if you've got a bunch of $300 IH Westerns the TS would be a nice change. It's not your typical already dull/faded chambray (it could be over time and be cool to see the evo) so it's different. I'm glad I bought it, will I recommend others buy it ....
