Yeah, I'm never too sure about those hiking-style boot laces on trainers. At least this pair comes with the Navy and Tan versions so there's something to play around with. I get the point that it's to reflect the Penfield contribution to the makeup, but I'm with you on the laces side of them.
Kind of brings me on to a pet hate of mine where trainers are concerned. All trainers over the £75/$100 price point should come with (at least) two pairs of laces IMO. I mean, how much does a pair of laces cost Nike, Adidas, New Balance etc. and it makes the whole ownership experience so much better. That's before we get on to the fact that it's near impossible for an owner to correctly colour match 3rd party laces unless they're white or black.

Was in two minds about these when they were released a couple of weeks ago, but the Snowman version was my favourite from their Christmas Pack and as a 20% off code popped up from one retailer I made the jump. Asics Gel Lyte III 'Snowman'

Wearing my Custom New Balance 574 with Raw Denim during my 2 weeks vacation. Very comfy but keep stretching larger after each wears and it starts getting a bit loose upfront.

I tried to bent my toes as much as possible when I walked to get the fade. Toes were getting very tired lately. Btw, not a good idea.

(from your post). julian, bought a pair? How do you like them?

Yeah, I'd ordered them with a 20% off promo code the day I originally posted. They arrived the week of Christmas. Really happy with them. They look even better IRL. Not worn them out yet as the weather's been fairly crappy and I think they'll work better as summer trainers (ironically, given their model nickname).
Did your cousin stick with the contrast laces or swap them out for the tonal grey ones?

Those Snowman are awesome. Love the laces too. How do they feel on? I'm an Asics and Adidas guy mainly, with a smattering of Puma Speed Cats in there. Actually, I got a couple PF Flyers and some Varvatos Con's as well. Maybe time to give some stuff to Good Will again...I like those Snowmans!

Call me crazy, but i don't know how you guys wear Chucks with pants. Anything but the skinny-est of skinny pants just swallow them up and give me the weird tiny feet look. So hard to find a pair of shoes that isn't too tiny or too bulky. And dont even get me started on colorways. Nightmare.
I've almost given up on finding sneakers, and just focusing on boots instead.

Especially Gustin straights, but it's all about proportions. For me I have to be wearing slims otherwise sneakers get swallowed up, but slim or skinny has an entirely different effect on boots. Boy, dressing oneself is hard.

I have the opposite with my 13/14s. LOL!!, it's all about where you are isn't it?

Wasn't paying attention to the Tiger before and was actually surprised on how fashionable they can be.

Boy, dressing oneself is hard. The leg openings of the G's straight or slim are too wide if there is no size down. They give a more dressy feel and it is just not my style. Ciano has a small opening and don't know about LD yet.

NB is my favorite shoe company. Not only are their styles great but they last forever. The design of the toe box is what separates them from all the companies out there, and it's one of the reasons their shoes last. There's that little curved piece of suede right above each big toe - it's this design that keeps your shoes from experiencing toe blowout. Other shoes I've owned like Puma and Adidas don't have this extra protection and had immediate toe holes. The only downside is there are no companies out there that can resole NB 574's that I know of

Anyone have frye chambers lows? How do they fit. Compared to other brands etc. I was tempted by the high-tops on Gilt, one of the Gustin guys loves them, one or two of the other Gustin guys hate them, I just don't have space in my shoes to be adding a bunch more since I've been on a boot kick lately.
