Cool and will do. My GF spent most of her summers there growing up and has lots of family there. Next time we're out there we'll check out Dirty Coast. Her parents sent her to Louisiana in the summer?? Was she a bad kid? Was it punishment? lol

Ordered the key chain from Steve this morning for my wife. I like buying from small businesses, and the 30% price discount is very nice also.

Just wanted to say I received the key chain I ordered from Steve. I had ordered one from him, as my wife liked the one I purchased from Gustin. He sent it out the next day, and it looks and functions great. Good job Steve, and thanks again!

An old friend of mine started dabbling in metal and leather goods as a hobby and it's really taken off as of late with the big success of his keychain Kickstarter (seen here) that ended last week. He's a one man show, it's really hands on and everything in the past has been super small batches or made-to-order only. Glad to see him really taking off with the Kickstarter, as his work is really popular within the EDC forums and groups he runs in, and I can't say enough good stuff about mine. I've had the old Corter Bottlehook (liked the concept, didn't care for the actual piece), and have had clasping leather tethers as well, but none were as perfect a fit and function for me as the Scout Hook. I've also had an older non-bottle-opening prototype he made a couple years ago, which was a bit more complicated with a swivel and clasp for your keyring as well, but it was costlier (more pieces of hardware involved [and outsourced] vs the current Hook which is a single piece 100% made in house). I'm crazy for brass, copper or nickel finish items, but I know those tones aren't for everyone. Here's a photo of mine, along with an old key-coffin he used to offer a couple years back and the Prometheus Lights Beta QR flashlight in copper (another one-man brand, excellent QC, small batches / custom orders):

If you use Instagram, be sure to follow him @fiends - he provides constant updates for all his work and products, as well as info of upcoming online product drops. Everything sells out very reliably, so it pays to know if/when something is dropping.

Haha. I know what it is. I just don't use it. Twitter is stupid and Instagram is Twitter for people who can't read

Whiskey Mercenary: sick fadez on that fob, brah. My buddy is making one like that for Wifebert, and I think he's got some scrap shell cordovan in green that he's using for the fob. That's her favorite color, so she'll be over the moon if that's how it ends up.
