Glad you like your USDG denim. I was told by someone at USDG that their denim is sourced from Kaihara, so the value/quality is there. If I buy another pair I might either end up going down a size on the narrow fit or the same size in the slight fit.
Did your IxI really have a black stamped patch? The patch on mine is dark blue. I'm also surprised you didn't get much indigo bleed after soaking them. When I took mine out of the tub there was indigo dye everywhere.
I'm actually wearing mine today. The honeycombs are already coming in nicely but not much fading due to not wearing them consistently.

The honeycombs are already coming in nicely but not much fading due to not wearing them consistently. It could be dark blue. Looks almost black. And the only smurf bleed I got was from ringing out the excess water. I also toss them in the dryer for a little tumble to get them to a damp level before hanging them up and that didn't turn blue like other indigo offerings in my collection. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I get more wear off of them. I plan to wear them a few more times in the near future to get the break in fully tested.

A quick review of the United Stock Dry Goods "Navy" (Indigo/Indigo Bright ID) denim offering. Currently the Indigo/Indigo Bright ID, the Black/Black and the Gray are on sale for $75 US (with shipping from Canada $100) here.Fit: - I opted for the Slight Fit. It's very comparable to the Gustin slim straight fit, namely any of the densely woven denim. I had a challenge (as mentioned before) on the sizing options. USDG doesn't have a size chart on their site. Brilliant. However, by searching out the goods and reading this thread, I determined a few options that have the fit guide available - for example, the Blue Owl Workshop has the fit guides. Interestingly enough, when I brought this to the attention of the USDG, Stephanie at USDG replied with confirmation of my sizing (I shared the size chart from Blue Owl) and she also referenced that the sizing may be a little different between the denims as they are different denims. That's actually a smart detail. So I explained to her what I was looking for and my sizing specs (rise, leg opening, etc.) and she confirmed my fit. I went with the 32 slight fit (very comparable to the Gustin 33 slim). - Long. They don't kid with length being 34-35" on the inseam. I'm not. So I opted for a cold and hot soak. Maybe lost an inch or so on the inseam. Doing the full roll on the cuff until I send them to AB Fits. Fade: - These are projecting to be inky bleeders from what I'm reading, but I didn't get the smurf murder in my tub nor did I get blue fingers from two days of wear and operating the button-fly. Comparing to my Gustin Italian Indigo/Indigo, I think those are inking out more at this point. Nevertheless, more wears = more wear. Details:- Very nondescript details. The ID is only seen when cuffed. The buttons and rivets are silver and the stitching is tonal. The pocket bags are white and the leather patch is a solid stamped black patch. No custom back pockets or anything. Again, less is more in that case. Weight:- A very light 14 oz. denim. I actually suspected more of an 11 or 12 oz based on feel, but they do have a slight density that does make it feel like my G 14 oz. black/black. Overall:- I would refer these. I was considering the Gray as a follow-up purchase, but the more I look at these, they look very similar to the G Graphites (13.5 oz) which are Kiahara Mills, however, the ID is a little thicker on the USDG. It may be an alternative if I want something with less white weft poking through. Back on track, a great option for a nice indigo/indigo nondescript pair with a pop in the ID. Hm. Well I didn't soak mine. And my fingers are constantly blue every time I wear them. Weird. They do feel like 12 oz. to me too. But that's Ok. The patch is indigo dyed, actually. Definitely looks black, but get it under sunlight and you can see it's indigo: www.blueowl.us/product/united-stock-dry-goods-slight-fit-14oz-indigoindigo-selvedge/

Im gonna try and beat on mine some more. In addition to the honeycombs im already starting to see micro fades in the knees from crouching/kneeling. I reckon a few more months of regular wear and theyll start to pop

I've been lurking on this forum for a few months, mostly the Gustin subforum. Pretty new to raw denim but learning as I go.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm looking to pick up some IxI's, specifically the USDGs. I know gustin has quite a few offerings but I only really liked the gustin Bright ID's due to the wear in pictures I came across. Are these USDG's identical to the Gustin Bright ID's?
Also if any owners have updates on quality, longevity, fit, stretch, pros, cons, fading, etc I'd appreciate it. USDG doesn't get much attention IMO, likely because its fairly plain, no significant details (all things I'm fine with). Price on these is worth a try from me if everything else checks out.

I believe the USDG's are the same as the G bright ID's. I havent worn mine in awhile to be honest. They're pretty basic selvedge denim so I cant think of any real negatives. For starter jeans they're certainly an acceptable entry into raw denim. I like how mine fit in the top block but the cuffs are bigger than I like at about 8.25" (for the narrow fit)...but my tastes have evolved in the last year hence my aversion to huge cuffs.
If you like them for the bright ID then go for it. Blue Owl Workshop has several pairs for sale including a decent fit guide and the price is decent enough, although these can be had on sale if you look around

I'll second gaseousclay on the USDG indigo denim. I think they are the same as the G bright ID. I have these, just haven't worn them yet (got them in September). I got the Slight fit, which is more narrow than the Narrow fit. I need to send them off to get hemmed up and I'm in no hurry since I've been wearing the G Italian IndigoxIndigo's in the interim. I plan to bring these into the rotation later this year. United Stock Dry Goods has periodic sales where you can score them for $99 CAD ($77 US).

Thanks fellas. I don't necessarily care about the bright ID too much. But from reading, Gustin's italian and cone indigo/indigo or indigo/black offerings are quite a chore to get any wear on them. I'll have to do some measuring of my current denim since the slight fit is more skinny than gustin's Slim and the Narrow fit is more roomy especially in the cuff. And yes, currently USDG has these on sale (~$75 + shipping) which piqued my interest.

I get that the Italians are slow faders, but these are showing some electric blue elements throughout and have been soaked (twice I think) and always leave my fingers blue after a day at the office. I probably wear them every other week, but I think if I went weekly rotation with these, I'd see even more fading.

The limited wear on my USDG's have revealed baby fades here and there but nothing significant. If I really focused on them and wore them regularly then i'm sure the fades would pop a little more. If they're discounted it's worth a shot. Otherwise, for more money you could try 3sixteen's shadow selvedge

Placed my order for these, but I'm unsure if I sized correctly (mostly concerned with the waist). How did these sew up compared to the size guide? Overall, did they come in spec from USDGs website? Blue Owl does not have the narrow fit measurements unfortunately. I was going to go with the slight fit but the knee is too thin for my liking. I'm a true 32" waist and get gustin slims in size 31. I'm unsure if I go for the size 30 (32") or 29 (31") in the narrow fit. The thigh, knee, and cuff on the 29s are what I prefer, but I don't know if I want to gamble on the waist size 1" below my true size. I reached out to them and my denim won't ship for a few days so I have time to change it. Any help is appreciated. unitedstockdrygoods.com/pages/size-chart

I went with the measurements from Blue Owl and found them to be fairly on point. I'm normally a 33 slim in G and went with 32 in the slight fit. And they do have fit specs for the narrow fit. Without remeasuring (I can later), mine came in on spec for the size 32 (34 waist).

mine were pretty close to BOW's measurements if I recall. I cold soaked mine so the waist is now about 34.5", but i've since lost weight and it's now a little loose on me. I'm a true 34" waist nowadays. the thighs and knees fit perfect for me.
