Don't drive it during the winter. After the salt gets washed away use it as a summer car. Can always coat the bottom with fluid film. As long as we live on a planet with oxygen there will be rust oh yes there will be rust. wouldn't be an option for me. I had to move since splitting from my wife and now live in an apt, so no place to store a truck. Also, having a toddler prevents me from owning a truck like this since they're 2-seaters

I guess my dream of VW bringing the GTD to the US has blown up in the last week. Haha, yeah I thought that yesterday. It's probably absolutely dead now.

My neighbors Alfa 4C. Never mind the Texas plates, he keeps it registred there to avoid draconian California DMV costs. To hell with practicality and "sensible high performance". It's proper red, has curves and sounds like sex and it makes all the local German box owners try really hard to pretend their sedans aren't.....sedans. (I'm not a German car hater, I just like to see a little IDGAF about the SoCal status quo once in a while, please don't PM bomb me if you have a BMW

Had a bunch of BMW's, love the little Alfa. If it had three pedals (and I didn't need somewhere to put a kid seat), I'd probably have one.

Speaking of which, apparently we need another BMW. Thing was a rock star and my wife (who was alone) just has a few bruises and minor burns from the airbags. To make things more fun, the next day my motor mount broke, took out the axle and broke a control arm. Sold that turd yesterday, so time for two new cars. Guess I should figure out what I want. Off today while the kid gets an MRI, but should probably figure out how to get to work.

Kids in a stolen car ran a stop sign and hit her on the passenger side, which pushed her over right at the telephone pole. The first responders were really impressed with how well the windshield frame held up. She crawled out of the sunroof. Baby and I were stuck in her traffic a few blocks away, so just swung by and picked her up.
Baby just has a big head, like both of his parents, but the neurologist just wants to make sure there're no underlying issues. Hopefully all just precautionary. He's up and home now, glad that's over.
Leaning towards a Fit until the Focus RS gets here, since the damned little dorky things hold their value like a champ.

What were they driving that train-plowed the X5? I've heard a bunch of people happy with their Fit, lots of cool weird little features in them. Sorry for all the car troubles, sometimes the world just decides you need a new car. Or two.

Yeah, can't complain abojt how it held up. She's likely to end up in a 340i, unless I can talk her into an M3.

bentin scary pic, glad it looks worse then it was but it still sounds bad. The RS looks like it'll be a nice driver. Not AWD though so my wife's going with the WRX which also has a Great crash test ratings.

The RS only comes with a Standard (good in my book) but the wife won't have it. That's ok, it's her daily driver.

350hp/350tq, and supposedly underrated at that. Gonna be good. Bought a Mazda3 wagon today, but may very well trade for an RS when available.

Bentin, I know we've talked and exchanged all the glad you're OKs but glad you and yours are ok. That Bavarian steel is about the best thing to have surrounding your body in a wreck.
My GFs mom is 61 and has a 2015 RS, proper manual and all. Hilarious to watch 20 somthing guys pull up next to her and do the triple take. I love that car. I remember test driving the first 230 hp WRX that came to the US and thinking about getting one....now that whole vehicle class is amazing.

Having totalled both a Subaru Impreza and a Kia Spectra, I can tell you that Subaru makes one heck of a protective car, as well. The Kia did alright, but I'll just say that I'm glad that Impala veered off the front of an Accord before nearly taking my engine bay off. If the Accord hadn't been there, I likely wouldn't be either. By contrast, I totalled an 86 Golf two or three times, and I think that thing is still on the road. To be fair, it wasn't worth much, so didn't take much to total. I think an SUV of today could do it in, though.
