Awesome. Everybody should have a Filson Mack in the closet, unless you live on the Equator. My dad worked for years in Alaska back in the 40s, and had lots of Filson gear, as it probably was the only game in town, and I have fond memories of him taking me out deer, and elk hunting, and I would wear one of his double Mackinaws. Made my sad when I outgrew it. And for those thinking it's too heavy, etc. it's not. It's more like a shirt-jack. I wore it out last night to Old Town for dinner with my wife - the blue & black is very subtle and it's a great piece for SoCal where it gets cold, but not Green Bay cold. I'm super stoked I got it! Highly recommended. That's my problem with a Mack jacket, it's to light (exspecially at $350). How's the blue? I should have pulled the trigger on it but just thought it would be to electric blue for us conservative New Englanders.

It seems weird that Filson sizes the Alaska fits by proper suit jacket sizing, then leaves the Seattle fit to the S/M/L/XL/XXL sizes. They've got a chart in their fit guide, which correlates the sizing schemes, but it just seems weird.
And I love the look of that Mackinaw, I'll have to keep my eye out for sales on it. $340 US (non-sale price) is a bit steep for a jacket I'd probably only wear occasionally through the Fall. Although I'd have it forever, I'm sure. The Gray/Black would be my choice.

Lovely - black/blue is very subtle - not a bright blue that can look like shite. Also, I tried to take some pics before I went off camping, and it was impossible with the iPhone inside to get good pics. When the rain stops, Ill give outside a shot with a better camera - or, a real camera.
