indigogene, welcome to the forum. I wish you luck but I have the strongest inkling that you are involved with Roman Acevedo in this endeavor. This is pure speculation on my part and I have no proof but it is just my gut feeling. For that reason I will not fork over one dime of my hard earned money until I see that Indigogene is actually delivering products to the paying customers. This feels like DejaVu all over again with free products being thrown out to people right off the bat. I hope I am proven wrong but only time will tell. Good luck jeanmaker. I had the same feeling when this brand was first brought to us.

Good luck jeanmaker. well, with much respect, you can think as you like. Me and my family have worked hard to get to here, and dirty_denim knows this. I have sold my wife's car and invest a lot of money into this. I have my shop in my house for now and I don't plan on getting rich from one day to another, I don't think on selling more than 50 jeans per week and 20 shirts. My father in law , Mr. Lopez is pattern maker , with 32 years of experience. My mother in law is a good sewer and my sister in law is a good sewer too and my wife is porffessional in making leather garments, and I have 20 years of experience sewing, so I really don't see why I should give money to someone else when I'm the owner and I make my own products. I have been working in my house as jrsewingmanufacture, making custom clothing, alterations And repairs. My son of 15 years of age helps me out in the forums and the Internet because I don't have much experience and I didn't want to get in these forums because I didn't know much about it.I really appreciate those who support me, and those who don't , I just want to do what I like the most and I am happy creating selvedge clothing.

I am working on slim fit and regular fit. I will make samples of different styles for pockets and people can select their own pockets. I will also make samples of designs for shoulders which would be for the people that want a custom shirt and we will have three basic designs, one is the work shirt and the other two we are thinking of the name. We will be ready to show more photos by next week. I do not have canvas right now but soon I will. I am waiting on an order of more fabric tomorrow . In between those there will be, candianis, Kaihara, kuroki, Japanese, chambray lightweight, all of those is between 9.5 oz to 18.5. This weekend I want to show small samples of our fabrics. Yes, if you are my first customer, I will send you a 50% off coupon for any other product. IHTB-01 Super Heavy Knitted Cotton Long Sleeved Sweater Hey Manny, I don't want a coupon or discount but just want to help a fellow Arizonian out. I live in the Phoenix area and have been to Lawless a couple of times to pickup jeans. I even had a minor run in with the R and the pit bulls. If I can be of any help just let me know. . Thank you for your support, I would like you to come to my shop at my house so you can see what we are creating. My address is 40 N date Mesa AZ 85201

I try and stay positive. I might be wrong, but i got the feeling DD and old employees of LD started this brand together after they all quit from LD??
That DD had the vision and the cutters and sewers were actually doing a good Job, as we can see on most of the garments. No-one knows if it started for DD himself or as a help for Manny etc. to get a boost.
I do feel its weird DD saying he left bc closeness to the failed brand, but this could mean so many things its not even Worth to speculate.
Whatever the case is i don't suspect anyone here will order a bunch from any newstarters no matter who, when or what. So personally I could try and buy a shirt and then try another after i have the first in-hand. Low risk high gain if its good stuff. That`s me and my gut feelings.

indigogene I wish you the best of luck and hope to be reading reports and seeing photos of your well made garments in the years to come. For now I'd say you have a bit of a hill to climb with this group as many have been burned by other small start ups...most notably your prior associate. My (unsolicited) advice is to start small, start slow. Don't go overboard with offering custom options and a lot of products. Make one or two things that you're very proud of and get those out there. Once people see/read about those and you gain some traction getting products into people's hands the rest can follow.

Yeah. I could potentially get a coupple of shirts with blue jean/gold thread, and i bet others could aswell. Within the week with will be finishing up production on the first run. Shirts might take a bit longer as we are still working on patterns and wont start selling them until the production run is completely finished and stocked. We have our buttons coming in today and some more fabric coming in early next week. Once things are wrapped up with the first run we will let everyone know. At first they will be going up on Etsy mostly because of money and not feeling the need for a big website just yet. Selling smaller numbers of things will be easier there for now. Over the first few months we plan to stay more local and reach out to a few of you guys for the first items to go out of the Mesa area. We eventually are going to want to wholesale but we are taking growth very slow over here. Trying to keep to 70 pieces a week at first. 20 shirts and 50 jeans max. I know we can do 200+ jeans a week with the current crew but slow growth will ensure we can deliver on all promises and gives us the free time to work on awesome stuff for the future of Indigogene. We hope you all will be able to grow with us but for now we are being smart and targeting our goals the right way. We plan to have items to start going up on Etsy by next week. Thanks for every bit of support and we cant wait for you guys to see this product.

i feel bad about all of the skepticism...i understand being cautious but i don't think this should be a witch hunt before it's been determined there is a witch.
i'm really excited for manny's opportunity as the pair of jeans Sal was showing off seemed very well done and i'd love to get a pair as soon as that heavier 16oz he showed off is available.
i think it's important to nail a few things and do them exceptionally well before opening the floodgates on a ton offerings but i'm sure it doesn't help when folks are in here asking for this, that and the other thing - of course he's going to want to make customers happy and offer the things we ask for. so tempering that enthusiasm might help drive better focus.
stepping off the soapbox now.

I see two huge differences from LD. Manny does not appear to be taking money for product that has yet to be made. Everything so far indicates he is starting off by sewing product and then selling it. So early customers shouldn't have much risk.
Also, on his FB and IG feeds he has pics that we begged and pleaded for from Roman but never got - pics of him cutting and sewing!!!

I would listen to others and see what people want, then I would match this with what I have planned myself, and pull out those things that is a match of the 2. This will help get things out that people want, but still hold true to the vision.
For example if I had a shop: I like: * Heavy jeans * Grey jeans * Herringbone jeans
I have calculated I can provide 2 styles and keep production. I ask or look around what people want that is my target group - they want heavy jeans and black jeans. Heavy is a match but not black. I would not do both, but do heavy and herringbone because then I provide what I think will sell and also something I burn for (herringbone).
Make a calculated plan and stick with it. In my experience the worst thing to do is change the plan too fast or too often. It takes longer then most bosses like to gamble to make a "culture". If you do 1 thing really good and do it well it will still take years maybe to have people make the connection and have you pop up in their mind when thry think of this kind of product. For instance If I say heavy durable topnotch shirts people will think of IronHeart.
Culture is also very important. I think you all know of the flightcompany that flies is it houston-dallas. They are a textbook example of having a culture that no-one can copy.
So have a vision, make a calculated plan and stick with it and dont get carried away or get cold feet too quick. To make a solid thing you gotta keep pounding out quality over and over again. I would like to say Ciano here is a great example, I havent bought anything from him yet, but I still feel I can trust him and that his clothes are durable.
You probably know all this or think im full of it, either way thats my experience.

Thanks so much for the kind words. We plan on taking input but for now we are going to sell what we have. We have a lot of short roll denim because it was affordable for us to buy and get shipped. Big rolls get expensive. So our first runs will be 2 fits in multiple denims and weights. ultimately we plan to order line item denim as we grow and keep a basic line more consistent but for now we have what we have. We would enjoy suggestions but cant quite expect quick implementation. We have a slow growth plan and will limit stock to what we can actually produce in a good time frame and turn away orders if we cant make them. Ultimately our goal isnt really to appeal to the denim head world, if we do thats great but we want to appeal even to people who dont have indigo running through their veins. We post here due to Sal's initial involvement and trying to keep you guys happy and offer you some exclusive knowledge to the first run of product. But ultimately we will make what we make and what makes us happy. If you guys dig it too, thats great.

The problem with making jeans in Arizona is that you will have Roman and Lawless brought up in conversation.

I'm torn on this one, and it just demonstrates the sad state of affairs. Even if this brand gets all of their jeans out and sells them on the up and up, with no complaints, I'd still not support this brand if Roman is even making 1 red cent from this, even if it's just through renting or selling equipment and materials. I do realize this is a bit unfair but "fool me once, shame on...fool, you aren't gonna fool me again" or however that saying goes.

Im not that far down...i dont care if R gets something as long as i get what i pay for. If he is selling off Machines and fabric he is probably selling it cheap so its like i steal from him! Better the stuff is put to good use. If its a steady stream with new stuff going through R like he is acting as a distributor, now thats another matter that doesnt taste good.

I'm just asking for one favor, please don't suspect anything from me, I don't want to steal your money, I just entered in to these forums to let people know what I'm creating, I bought all the machines, I bought all my fabrics from the correct company, nothing I get free. I really love what I do and I'm happy with what's going on and when I hear bad comments about me, I feel bad. I'm that person that loves their wife and kids, I wouldn't do anything that would cause any problems or damage to my family. If you don't want to help me and support me , please don't comment something about others. THE JEANS IM GOIMG TO GIVE OUT, I WILL PICK THE PEOPLE ON MONDAY 09/14/15. I WILL CONTACT YOU. For the people that would like to follow me on Facebook, I will always try to create new things for sale and also a person wants to do my website for trade 2 pairs a Jean so website is coming soon thx...

Nice vest Manny. The color and cut are fantastic. I have a leather vest I bought at Sabas anout six years back in my cowboy days. It's way too boxy and the leather is first class but a little to shiny for my taste.
