Thanks for the heads-up. A Google search puts them in 5 stores, so far. Only complaint I have, they all appear to carry only a one wash version.

A year ago I'd have been all over these. Since then I've decided only indigo denim for me.

BiG has got them, in raw, as well as one wash. $215 ..... Oni-546olzrAfter an estimated conversion, with shipping, the cost from Japan will be around $190. But, I have only found them in one wash version there. If you want the raws, getting them from a US retailer, for 25 bones more, seems to make sense to me. Free shipping, as well. I'm not familiar with BiGs return policy. But, I can't imagine it would be worse than trying to return them to Japan.

that's a shame noticed a lot of shops thru Rakuten don't do but one wash in some models which is agitating.

One wash only? Is getting them raw worth $50 to me? I'd also guess that D would get them to me faster than BiG.
Since I'm wearing Once Washed Oni right now, I guess I know the answer. Now to go loose 36 or try to stretch out 34's?

What good does fit checking unsanforized do? I'd prefer raw too, but not sure that it's worth 30% more to me.

u might want to email Denimio if they are one wash or not.
from the images of the patch they do appear to me to be a one wash.
they don't have all the details input yet on the description.

I'd prefer raw too, but not sure that it's worth 30% more to me. all other things being equal, i'd much rather fit check a pair regardless of sanf/unsanf prior to buying, especially when rise and/or thigh measurements look close. i tried on several pairs of kibatas locally and found quite a bit of variance. of course here all things aren't equal as the price is higher for that privilege and i'm not certain it is worth that premium.

Fit checking a pair of raws is crucial imo. It tells you how they fit pre soak which will be an indicator of how you'll soak them

So while having them in hand will slightly effect wash methods, I just don't see it being a pre purchase factor, especially if you have a shop send actual measurements on a few pair. I still think that if the waist would stretch enough, I could probably go two or three sizes down in Secrets. Now go with a tighter weave and I get it, but my 22's have stretched enough that I really likely will size down on 20's since they're an even looser weave.

Absolutely agree on the Kibatas, as they're probably twice as densely woven. I just think Secrets are a bit of a crap shoot (not chute) anyway, and will stretch enough that anything but rise and inseam will stretch out anyway.

My raws came today. I ordered from BiG, late on Tuesday. I added a note, requesting the smallest sewn pair of 36 they could find. I received a follow up email from Gordon, Wednesday. They pulled the smallest pair they could find, and sent them off Wednesday night. Damn good service. Specs came in under, across the board, with the exception of the cuff. After the soak. The cuff should be about perfect, as is. So, it's a win, all around. Pre-soak measurements: Waist: 37.25" F Rise: 11" B Rise: 15.25" Thigh: 26"(at crotch) Knee: 19" Cuff: 17" Inseam: 36.5" My original thought was to soak them tomorrow. But, I may wait. If denimio updates their product page, to include raws, I'll nab them there, and return these for credit. This is an awesome denim. Love the secret. The color is definitely more subtle than many pics would lead you to believe. Instantly, my favorite non-indigo, so far.

These are fing great. Just started to get acclimated to IH sizing having never even tried on anything Oni...puling hair out. Interesting to see these other sellers BIG and Denimio. Suppose if your in 35" waste area you can expect the 1" in stretch?

Suppose if your in 35" waste area you can expect the 1" in stretch? Shouldn't be a problem. Or get the raws and do a cold soak. Seems most post soak measurements are at least a warm soak.
