Yeah, stinky . I wore them with pinstripe trousers in the office today and they just looked so much better than anything else there, yet with jeans they look like an upmarket pair of bovver boots, as we used to say.

I really wish I could wear Stows but because my feet are narrow C's they flop around a bit more than I'd like.  So that leave me to either do a MTO on a different last OR have them make me a custom last. 

The custom last option would be fun one day, but then I'd have to order like 3 or 4 pairs of shoes just to make use of it.  Or maybe just one at first to test out and refine the last.  Anyways, Trickers says this pipe dream takes 3 separate fittings to get the last made.

Just got these a couple weeks ago and spent maybe 5 hours breaking them in at home and have worn them a few days to work. They are trickers + lost&found aniline brogues in navy (super dark, even more so after some obenaufs... anyone have experience with aniline dyed leather? I thought nothing of it when purchasing them, but then thought it was worth a google search only to find some fairly specific products for its care. I actually bought some “Colourlock” aniline leather conditioner, but when it arrived it seemed so synthetic. I put one coat on, then decided it really didn’t seem like it was feeding the leather at all and just went with my standard treatment of a couple coats of obenaufs (super fun with a toothbrush to get in all the brogue-y nooks and welt-y valleys, and i think it’s the way to go. What I’m really curious about is how these will patina over time. It seems like the colourlock product I bought is to restore color to couches and car seats and things that have faded over time, which makes me think these might fade? Or maybe not because I’ll treat them well. Any thoughts?

Yeah, just dyed, not waxed or treated. They'll patina nicely
I have one pair that I just use Bicks oil on. I'd personally stay away from Obenaufs wax, even though I do use it on my treated shoes and CXL Wolverines. I'd just avoid any waxes on aniline, as that's what makes it cool, it's not waxed or sealed.

You mean just a pure neatsfoot oil? Or the bicks #4 conditioner? I didn’t notice the obenauf obscured the grain of the leather at all (although I do need to take a hairdryer to some of the broguing where it didn’t soak in...see photos above). Neatsfoot oil is my go-to for belts and the occasional rub on a denim patch, so I’ll pobably experiment between the two. Thanks!

Yeah I’d say it’s about 3/4 size. I’m an 11.5-12E US in most sneakers, between a 11-11.5E US in Alden/AE depending on the last, and these Tricker 4444 lasts in a 10.5UK fit 5, fit perfectly. Just a tad of snugness at first that after just a few wears has really started to shape to my foot. Nice shoes...

Ordered size 8.5. For snug but over all pretty good. Would 100% need a pretty long break in I feel.

Leather is buttery soft.

Over all quality of construction seems good with a few hesitations.

The boots have two different pull tabs. One leather pretty standard and the other a fabric. Seems the fabric one is more for show. First try on the right one pulled right off.

Insole where the heel pad needs the front pad is already curling a bit after like 25 minutes of wear around the house only.

How are the overall quality of Trickers? Seems nice but don’t think $525 nice as of now.
