Really? You guys realize the tiny ankle look is a fad right? When it's over you'll all be stuck with a closet full of jeans that are just barely starting to break in, but won't want to wear because you'll feel like everyone else that they look silly Perhaps you don't realize that the slim straight isn't tight around my ankles. This is actually the complaint people have against the skinny, that it doesn't have the tiny hem width, and the slim is larger than that. They aren't a trendy skinny fit and don't look like one, and work much better for me than the paddle-legs straight cut. The fact it doesn't swallow up my shoes makes it a winning proposition for me. They are right at the edge of what would be too slim for me, but I'm not walking around all sausage legs with pegged ankles.

They are right at the edge of what would be too slim for me, but I'm not walking around all sausage legs with pegged ankles. We all have different fit preferences and of course different bodies. Evidently the fit works for many people. I think the cuff is fine on the slim fit. The 9.6 front rise is about an inch too low for me on a tagged size 30. Rear rise an inch low also. I would have more Gustin pants if the rise was a little higher. The legs do not look or feel skinny fit at all to me. Different manufacturers just have different specs. Have been looking at 3 Sixteen slim tapered and their equivalent waist size is 10.5 front rise 14 rear. Perfect for me. I wish all manufacturers would list rear rise also.

Agreed, rise on the slims is about an inch too low for my preference. RgT SK gets it right for me.

Is this the Hipster Rapper combination fit? The Hipper fit. More hip than the Hipster. Or the Rapster fit. Not sure why I feel the need to try being a comedian today.

The rise is the only knock I have on the slims. I feel like every time I need to reach for something on the ground or Asian squat, this guy is gonna sneak up behind me and take a pic.

When it's over you'll all be stuck with a closet full of jeans that are just barely starting to break in, but won't want to wear because you'll feel like everyone else that they look silly the slim fit will be dependent on your body type as well. If you're on the larger size a slim fit might as well be a skinny fit. I've actually started to move away from larger hems (8"-8.25") and started to embrace hems in the 7.5"-7.75" range, but i'm about as average as they get so the slim fit suits my body type. the hem is a perfect balance of not being too narrow or too wide. my one and only complaint with the G slim fit is I think the back rise is a little too high. I can understand not wanting to expose your ass-crack to the world but I don't have that problem.

Slim I like a lot just needs to be consistent it's like I need to back a 36 and 37 slim and see which ones come out right. Hell I asked Gustin to measure for me before sending so I could get one that works but they don't provide that service like these other places do.

My problem with that fit is the cuff opening is so narrow that it won't cover the tops of my shoes. Which is great if you want your cuffs up high clearing your shoes, like the way girls do it, and is a really cute look for them

I have 8.5EE iron rangers and a 36slim Gustin doesn't look odd. Fits over fine.
I do however hem them taking about 6" off them.

The hem on the Gustin slim is fine IMO. The problem is the hem on the straight. I'm in between slim and straight. I need a slim in the lower half, but a straight in the top half. I can't go straights because that hem is stupid large. Also the god damn 36" inseam on anything with a 34 waist and above.

My straights are more like bell bottoms or boot cut.

No they're not lol. True boot cut is like a 19" opening, bell bottoms even wider. They just seem like that to you because everyone is trying to sell ladies jeans to men right now. trust me, this fad is as a fashion faux pas, the current equivalent to shoulder pads or cargo pants. History will prove me right

History will prove me right What? Straight cut 36 Gustin they do not fit like a normal straight cut. They went in at the knee measurement then flared at the cuff. Both pairs did they basically measured the same as a 36slim did but a higher rise and flare at the cuff. I hemmed them now so I don't have the measurements but I was surprised they tapered in at the area where I guess the calf would be then flared out.

I wear their 35, so maybe there's a difference. I tried a pair of slims once and it wasn't an 8" opening, it was around 7"+, and the opening did not cover the tops of my shoes. And by the tops I mean the very top, above the laces, they got caught up in the tongue. They felt good, I liked the way they felt, but when I looked in a full length mirror I wanted to run right home and change immediately! They just looked really silly to me. And I'm a slim guy, so it's not a question of being the wrong body type

I don't know..Slims aren't exactly skinny jeans, and they're not wide cuffed straight jeans either. They're the perfect middle ground that fits the mold of a variety of body types. I'm sure slims will be around for a while.
