I love cast iron skillets. I have one that will last 400yrs. Bacon, chicken, steaks. You can put it in the oven too, camp fire whatever. The wife, and I, have quite the collection of cast iron, and use it exclusively. If properly cared for, meaning don't use soap on them, they just get better with time, and will out live you for sure. For those looking to give them a try, I'd highly recommend that they stick with American made brands, like Lodge, and totally stay away from made in China cast iron, as examples of these tend to crack over time. The casting quality, and finish just isn't there.

Cool Material posted this. I don't really agree with all the "a real man should _____" articles, but thought it might be a decent discussion piece that doesn't involve Gustin's shoes or Lawless' wait times. They've phrased it as "see how many you can check off the list", but I don't know if that's the most interesting way to look at it. Without further ado: 50 Things Every Man Should Own. Hm, I have all but the robe!

As in doing your makeup (not you Old26 , my wife. Or maybe lounging around the house. but if I'm doing that I'm putting something else on. It would make me feel like I'm giving up on the day.

You said slip on. I love a good slip on shoe especially for air travel. Sorry (just my opinion) but I've never seen a slip on that I like. Boat shoes may slip on but still have the laces. I love Chucks, those slip on but still have plenty of laces . I guess I just don't like any shoe that doesn't have laces.

I have one pair of monk straps that I use for travel, but I hate the look of those too.

Only exception. Cowboy boots (but not up here in New England, but I get why some like them) and a good Engineer Boot (not my style but I like them on others).

Cowboy boots are the enemy of the NSA - I can fly through the whole place. That and NSA "pre-check" are golden. And leave your belt in your carry-on...
